Hola!

Ha pasado mucho, pero mucho tiempo desde la última vez que escribí en éste blog, algunas de las cosas que han pasado en mi vida son:

• abrí uan tienda de scrapbooking en Isabela, Puerto Rico y nos va muy bien!!!
  
• Mi hija comenzó a asistir a una escuela, que BTW no le gusta ir y todos los días inventa una excusa para evitarla, lol.
  
• Nos mudamos de residencia y nos gusta el lugar, pero aún extrañamos mucho la otra casa, espero que para verano podamos quedarnos en ella varias semanas...
• Ya mi bebé se está haciendo grande y lee

En fin, que han pasado muchas cosas buenas por las que le damos gracias a Dios. De ahora en adelante voy a hacer un esfuerzo por escribir en éste blog aunque sea una vez a la semana.

Les muestro unas tarjetitas sencillas, súper sencillas que hice ayer para que la nena las llevara a la escuela, fue producción en masa, pues eran 22 de Kitty y 9 de perritos. Para hacerlas usé los cartridges Sweetheart y Hello Kitty Greeting Card.

Anoche estaba en un crop virtual con algunas amigas y esta fue la página que hice para el álbum de Disney. Esas fotos fueron tomadas tarde en la noche, durante la fiesta de Navidad. Todavía recuerdo que justo antes de esas fotos la cámara se quedó sin batería, pero Gracias a Dios por el programa de Photopass y todos los fotógrafos que tienen. Esas fotos fueron tomadas por ellos y estoy feliz de no haber perdido esos momentos especiales!

Last night I was on a virtual crop with some friends and this is the layout I made for the album of Disney. Those photos were took very late during the Christmas Party. I still remember that before those photos, the camera ran out of battery, but thanks God for the Photopass program and all the photographers they have. These photos were captured by them and I am glad not to have lost those special moments!

Hace tiempo que no estaba por aquí actualizando el blog pero hoy tomé un tiempo para compartir este video que tomé en el recital "La Suite del Cascanuez" de la academia Ballet Jazz de Mayaguez. Mi hija comenzó a bailar en septiembre de este año y le fascina, lo disfruta muchísimo. Al comienzo del video verán que es la segunda de izquierda a derecha. Todas las niñas lo hicieron chulísimo, se quedaron con el show y obtuvieron la mayor cantidad de risas y aplausos. Todos los presentes disfrutamos mucho. Yo estaba feliz de ver que mi hija lo disfrutaba mucho y que se sentía libre, sin temor a mostrar su personalidad ocurrente y su amor por el baile y la música. Espero que lo disfruten tanto como yo, que cada vez que lo veo me río.

It been long ago that I don't updated the blog but today I took some time to share this video of the recital "The Suite of the Nutcracker" by Ballet Jazz of Mayaguez Academy. My daughter started dancing in September of this year and she is fascinated, she enjoys dancing very much. At the beginning of the video you can see her in the second position from left to right. All the girls did a great work and they received the most applauses and laughs of the show. I was happy to see that my daughter enjoyed it so much and that she felt free, without fear of showing her personality and her occurrences; showing her love to dance and music. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do because every time I see it I laugh.

En esta ocasión sí que ha pasado mucho tiempo desde mi última entrada al blog. Estuve haciendo tantas cosas que ni siquiera me di cuenta de todo el tiempo que ha pasado. Les cuento que en estos días he estado bien ocupada, entre clases, trabajo y muchas otras cositas; han sido unos días intensos de poco dormir y muchas tareas por hacer y lo peor es que todavía me quedan unos días iguales antes de poder tomar un descanso, pero ya saben, para descansar tranquila hay que dejar listas muchas cositas que hay pendientes por hacer.

Entre una cosa y otra, estuve haciendo tarjetas de navidad. Son sencillas pero chulitas. Preparé 6 tarjetas tamaño 3"x3" y para guardarlas preparé la cajita usando un tutorial de Nicole Heady. En mi caso, para que las tarjetas cupieran, corté el papel de patrón de la parte de arriba de la caja a 9 1/4" x 9 1/4" y el cartoncillo blanco de la parte de abajo de la caja a 9" x 9". Para las tarjetas usé papeles de Basic Grey de las colecciones de Navidad Fruitcake y Figgy Pudding.


This time it has happened a long time since my last entry to the blog. I was doing so many things that even I realized all the time that has passed. These days I have been well occupied, between classes, work and many other things; have been some intense days of little sleep and many tasks to do and what is worse is that I'm still the same for a few more days before I can take a break. But you know, to have a few days of vacation, many things must be done before.

Between one thing and another, I made some Christmas cards. They are simple but cute. I prepared 6 cards of 3" x 3" and a box. For the box I used a tutorial by Nicole Heady. In my case, so that the cards fit, I cut the patterned paper for the top of the box to 9 1 / 4" x 9 1 / 4" and the white cardstock for the bottom of the box to 9 "x 9". I used papers from Basic Gray Fruitcake and Figgy Pudding Collections.

Al fin estoy por aquí después de tantos días. En este layout pueden ver a Aurora, nuestra perrita que ya tiene 3 meses de estar con nosotros. Es muy juguetona, le gusta esconderse debajo de la cama igual que a mi hija. Se ha convertido en la otra niña de la casa.

At last I am here after so many days. In this layout you can see Aurora, our dog who already has 3 months to be with us. Is very playful and she likes to hide under the bed like my daughter. She has become the other girl of the house.

Hoy hice éste layout con las fotos de las princesas. Como puedes ver las fotos tienen muchos colores diferentes, así que decidí usar cardstock de color sólido solamente, de este modo las fotos siguen siendo la parte importante del layout.

Today I made this layout using photos of the princesses. As you can see, the photos have many different colors, so I decided to use cardstocks in solid colors, this way the photos continue to be the important part of the layout.

Ayer hice esta página inspirada en la Flor que el Capitán Garfio le dio a mi hija. Ella estaba en la fila de autógrafos y cuando el la vio, caminó hacia una planta que estaba cerca de su lugar y tomó una flor. Cuando se la entregó ella se puso muy feliz, fue un momento invaluable. Después de eso fuimos al Crystal Palace en Magic Kingdom y en nuestro camino ella le mostraba la flor a todas las personas que pasaban cerca de ella, fue muy divertido. Este momento fue tan especial para ella que decidí hacerle una página para que pudiera recordarlo siempre. Un año después, ella aún lo recuerda y la hace sonreir!

Yesterday I made this layout, inspired in the flower Captain Hook gave my daughter. She was in the autograph line and he walked to a plant near his spot to grab a flower after seeing her. When he gave her the flower she was happy, it was a priceless moment. After that, we went to the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom, and on our way she was showing the flower to all the people who passed near her, it was so funny. This moment was so special for her that I decided to make a layout so she can remember it always. A year latter, she still remember it and it makes her smile!

• Para la corona utilicé tinta para repujado Versamark y polvo para repujado rosado con brillo.
• El texto se encuentra en un "tag" debajo de la foto (por eso hay una pestaña azul al lado de la foto)

• For the crown I used Versamark ink (I consider this the best embossing ink) and Pink Glitter embossing powder.
• Journaling is in a tag, under the photo (that's the reason for the blue tab on the photo side)

Sigo trabajando fotos del viaje a Disney. Aquí una página que hice hoy con las fotos de Chip y de Dale usando la plantilla #67 de Valerie Salmon. Le hice algunos cambios para adaptarlo a una página 12"x12" y poder usar las figuras de los personajes cortadas por mi amiga Joan. Para el texto hice unas líneas usando la máquina de coser (por eso me quedaron un poco viradas, lol).

I'm still working with photos from our trip to Disney. Here is a layout I made today with photos of Chip and Dale using Sketch #67 of Valerie Salmon. I made some changes to adapt it to a 12"x12" layout and to use the characters figures cutted by my friend Joan. For the journaling, I made a few lines using the sewing maching (thats why they are a little tilted, lol).

La pasada semana fui a hacer scrapbooking con una amiga e hice esta página rosada. Las fotos son de diciembre 2007 en Disney, Florida. Estuvimos esperando alrededor de 30 minutos para poder tomar fotos y el autógrafo de Piglet, pero valió la pena. Mi hija estaba tan feliz, ella disfrutó cada personaje que conoció. Ahora seguiré trabajando, pues me quedan muchas pero muchas fotos por trabajar de esas vacaciones.


Last week I went to crop with a friend and made this pinky-pink layout. Those photos are from December 2007 at Disney, Florida. We wait around 30 minutes in the line to take pictures and the autograph of Piglet, but it worth the time. My daughter was so happy, she enjoy every character she met. Now I will continue working because I still have to work with a lot of photos from this vacation.

Algunas veces comienzo a trabajar una página y por alguna razón no me gusta como se ve o no puedo encontrar el adorno apropiado para darle un toque especial, así que decido dejarla en una esquina de mi mesa de trabajo hasta que encuentre cómo terminarla. Bueno, pues este es el caso de las páginas "Three Years", las comencé hace más de 2 meses y finalmente hoy tomé un tiempo para terminarlas. Esas fotos son del cumpleaños de mi hija. Las páginas tienen ocho fotos 4"x6", dos en el lado izquierdo y seis en el lado derecho. Mira en la tercera foto para que veas cómo puedes añadir fotos encima y debajo de los "mats" para acomodar más fotos por páginas.

Sometimes I start working a layout but for some reason I didn't like how it turns out or couldn't find an appropriate embellishment to add a special touch, so I decide to leave it in a corner of my working table until I figure how to finish it. Well, this is the case of the layout "Three Years", I started it over 2 months ago, and finally today, I took a break to finish it. Those photos are from my daughter's birthday. The layout have eight 4"x6" photos, two in the left side and six in the right side. Look at the third picture to see how you can add photos over and under the mat to accommodate more photos in a layout.

Hoy estuve trabajando un poquito y completé dos proyectos, el primero es una página con fotos que tomamos en julio en una viaje que hicimos al Campamento Guajataka, el lugar es muy lindo y tranquilo.


Today I was working a little bit, and finished two projects, the first one is a layout with photos from a trip we made in July to "Campamento Guajataka", this place is so pretty and quiet.






El segundo proyecto es una tarjeta 3" x 3" usando la plantilla del reto #54 de Beate. Este tamaño de tarjeta es bien rápida de hacer ya que no hay mucho espacio para estar añadiendo cositas y lo mejor es que se ven delicaditas y curiosas.



The second project is a 3" x 3" card using Beate's sketch challenge #54. Cards of this size are very easy and fast to make because there is not much room to be adding things and the best is they looks delicate and curious.





Me voy de regreso a mi cuarto a ver que otra cosa puedo hacer...

I'll go back to my room to see what else I can make...

Al fin he decidido comenzar a trabajar con las fotos de nuestras vacaciones en Disney. Esta página es la primera que aparecerá en el álbum, mi hija con Mickey, ninguna otra página podría ser mejor.

Finally I decided to start working with the pictures of our Disney's vacation. This layout is going to be in the first page of the album, my daughter with Mickey, no other layout could be better.




Para ayudarme a completar este álbum más rápido he decidido usar plantillas. La siguiente fue tomada del blog de Page Maps y mi versión está debajo de ella. Roté la plantilla para acomodar las fotos que quería usar y le di mi toque personal.


To help me make this album faster I have decided to use sketches. The following was taken from the Page Maps Blog and my version is below it. I rotate the sketch to accomodate the pictures I wanted to use and I gave it my personal touch.

Hace mucho tiempo que no tejía, pero esta pasada semana saqué los hilos, las agujas y preparé estos pañitos como parte del regalo que le hice a una amiga que va a tener su primer bebé.

It's been a long time since the last time I do some crochet, but this past week I took the yarn and the needles and prepared this baby burlaps as part of a gift I gave to a friend who is going to have her firts baby.




Para acompañar el regalo preparé esta tarjeta en donde se puede colocar un "gift card", es bastante genérica, por lo que se puede usar para muchas ocasiones.

To accompany the gift, I prepared this card that can hold a gift card, is a generica card so it can be used for different ocassions.

Como parte de un regalo para una buena amiga, preparé este mini album. Es un acordeón 8"x8" que se guarda en una cajita, todo hecho en chipboard. Para ayudar a proteger el álbum apliqué "Mod Podge" a la cajita (por dentro y por fuera) y a todos las piezas de chipboard a las que le apliqué pintura.

As part of a gift for a good friend, I prepared this mini album. Is an 8"x8" accordion album that have a box for storage, everything is made of chipboard. To help protect the album I add Mod Podge to the box (inside and outside) and to all the painted chipboard pieces.
